UPDATE: This location reopened as Buzz Brews!
- Juicy pork (this one no bone), okra, cole slaw, and sweet iced tea. Delicious! Ignore the beer. I brought it.
- Tried to get a picture of the pie, but kind of got drawn to the neon sign.
- Just a small glimpse of the dining room.
This homestyle restaurant just opened. The TVs will be on tomorrow, the house music up soon, and they’ll have a beer and wine license in about three months. I really didn’t mind going across the street to get a six pack! 🙂 Although they’re still putting it all together, and a lot seemed to be missing, the food was great! I had sweet iced tea (and my BYOB), chicken tortilla soup, and the delicious and juicy pork loin chops. The seasoning made it great. For my sides I had broccoli salad and fried okra. I loved them both. I can’t wait for this neighborhood restaurant to bring it all together! I’ll definitely be back.
Great to see you there! I liked it too, but missed the old pubs. They totally need avocados though! Follow our blog too… http://Www.vampirethursdays.com
See you soon!

The Mecca is an old Dallas diner- been around for ~75 years. I believe a woman (maybe a former waitress?) bought it a few years back and and took over at the Love Field location – 10422 Harry Hines – but that location is now closed and they’re now at the Live Oak spot – might have changed hands again?
P.S. Their bread pudding was fantastic. at their old location at least.
